What to Expect

If you’ve never had a consultation with an aesthetic physician, the process may seem a little intimidating. But don't worry, we will explain the steps involved in booking a consultation and ultimately choosing Restylane®.

You may have the impression that if you find an aesthetic doctor and book a consultation you are 100% ready to have a procedure. This may not be true. The initial consultation is a two-way discussion with a qualified health professional. It’s important to express your goals and feelings about your appearance, ask questions and become more informed about Restylane® and other treatment options. During this process you should make sure you feel comfortable with your doctor. For a list of aesthetic physicians who provide cosmetic services or to locate one near you use our Physician Locator.

Once you have chosen a physician and decided on a treatment approach, the treatment will usually take place in the doctor’s office. After your treatment you might have some swelling, redness, pain, itching, discolouration and tenderness. This will typically last less than a week. For more information, read the Restylane® safety information.

Cost is a question that is often on people’s minds when considering Restylane®. The cost of a Restylane® treatment will depend on how many areas of the face you want treated and other factors that you will need to discuss with the physician. A typical treatment for 1-2 areas could cost as low as $500. Exact duration of a Restylane® treatment depends on many factors, including the treatment area and should be discussed with the physician.

More information on the entire consultation and treatment process can be found in our Restylane® experience section.
