Consultation

The first step in your Restylane® treatment experience is your consultation. A thorough consultation with your physician can be as important as the treatment itself. Experienced physicians should always be happy to provide their professional opinion on facial aesthetics, so don’t feel intimidated about asking questions.

You can start by telling the physician what your main concerns are, and he or she will try to explain how Restylane® can address those specific areas. To help achieve the best treatment results, you should feel free to ask for the physician’s opinion on your overall facial appearance or specific facial characteristics. Your doctor should also be able to give you some tips on how to try to maintain a youthful face, and may offer suggestions for what he or she can do with Restylane® to try to meet your goal to look more youthful.

Before you proceed with any treatment, your physician should do his or her best to make sure you understand how the procedure works, what results you can expect, and what to do after the treatment. Again, feel free to ask any questions you have. Here is a list of suggested questions to get you started.

Treatment

The exact duration of a Restylane® depends on many factors, including the treatment area, and should be discussed with the physician.

Restylane® is injected through very thin needles. To reduce discomfort during the treatment, your physician may anesthetize the treatment area.

Post-Treatment Care

Restylane® treatments usually require minimal down time. Besides the tiny needle marks that can be easily covered by makeup, some may experience swelling, redness, pain, itching, discolouration, and tenderness. This will typically last less than a week.

Maintenance

Restylane® is naturally integrated into the tissue and will in time be resorbed by your body, as the treatment results gradually wear off.

Results are not permanent. This means you can assess your results and may try to modify your desired effect during follow-up treatments. Exact duration depends on the character of the defect treated, the tissue stress at treatment site, the depth of injection and the injection technique, and should be discussed with your physician.

Cost
